Introducing
We are Helen (52) , headteacher of a Special School and Les (71) retired English Literature lecturer. Last summer we enjoyed our third visit to Australia and look forward to a long stay next time. We are always away during July and August so it seems crazy leaving the house empty. We are also keen to host people as guests whilst we are at home. We believe travel is for really connecting with people and understanding what makes 'Cultures'. It's not about rushing at breakneck speed ticking off sites. It's about taking time to see animals and flowers and art, swim in wild places and drink wine over great conversation.
About Our Home
Comfortable interesting late 19th century house recently modernised but with period feel. The house is one of 3 arranged around a courtyard. In the past all 3 houses were home to the mistress of a local Duke. The house feels 'detached' and is very private. We brought our children up here; two of the bedrooms interconnect: ideal for families. There is a conservatory, two adjacent lounges, dining room and kitchen downstairs. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a large study with folding beds which can be used here or elsewhere in the house.
