Introducing

We are a retired air traffic controller and a retired teacher in our 70's and late 60's. Having spent many years living between Australia and the UK, we moved to Sydney to be near our son and his family, who live just up the road from us. Our daughter and son-in-law still live in London, but thankfully love to travel - now keeping up the family tradition and exchanging their own flat. We have done over 30 fantastic house exchanges, with our flat in Lymington in the New Forest and each of our homes in Sydney. Now, we are listing our new home, and look forward to continuing what has become a wonderful way of travelling. We are currently looking for a London exchange for August - October 2019.

About Our Home

*** We can offer a non-synchronous swap- our home is available from November 18th to December 12th 2018 We are now looking for a home and car exchange to London for up to two months from early/mid August 2019. We have recently moved into our 2nd floor apartment (2 lifts) and love it here. The apartment is spacious, with an eat-in kitchen which has an outlook over the outdoor, heated swimming pool and spa. We have an L shaped living/dining room, a separate laundry, two bathrooms (one with a bath and separate shower) and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a 6' (supering) bed, made up of two long singles, and the 2nd bedroom has a single bed with a pop up trundle underneath. The apartment comfortably sleeps three but four is fine. The flat faces north and has great light. We are right next to the Bondi Junction hub, with views along to the Bondi Junction terminus and out towards the harbour, with distant glimpses of an occasional cruise ship or ferry to Manly and Watsons Bay. We can also see a smidgeon of the harbour bridge from the kitchen and the bedroom, and have been told that the famous Sydney fireworks can be seen from our flat. Staying here, you would be in the heart of everything the area has to offer, with everything on your doorstep including buses to the beaches and trains or buses to the city and way beyond. The apartment is in a solid, very well run building, with friendly neighbours and an in-house manager. The residents are mostly owner occupiers. If you are interested in exchanging with us we'd be delighted to hear from you and happy to provide any more information you may need. We also offer our automatic Toyota Corolla estate for exchange. It's no longer in its prime (same here!) but does a good job. We have parking permits for Bronte and Bondi beaches.

Our Location

Bondi Junction is in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. On the doorstep are all the shops, cafes, restaurants and facilities you would need, including a huge Westfield Mall, as are trains (3km/4 metro stops to city) and buses (20 mins ride to city or Circular Quay). Centennial Park and Queens Park are within fifteen minutes level walk, and within half an hour's walk (or hop on a bus) are the Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi beaches. Should you prefer to drive there, we have a car parking permit. . Often we walk to Bronte Beach for a coffee, then along the fantastic cliff top walkway to Bondi Beach, perhaps stopping for lunch at Icebergs swimming club, then we walk home along Bondi Road. Or you can walk down to Tamarama Beach, then left or right along the cliff to Bondi or Bronte - the choice is yours!

We are retired couple ex air-traffic controller, and ex-teacher, with a variety of interests. We moved from England to Sydney to be near our son and his family once the grand children starter to arrive. We have exchanged homes many times over the years, ever since our children were little, and now our daughter and partner carry on the family tradition with their home in London. They have room for us when we visit but we do like our own space, hence the need for a regular home exchange within easy reach of their place.
